Biography
Alexis is a Cambridge University graduate (BA in Social & Political Sciences) and a qualified English teacher who has taught in various countries. He also has an MA in Tourism Management and Marketing from Brighton University and has his own separate internet marketing and communications company and a corporate language training business.
While in Russia, Alexis was the staff translator (Russian into English) for a number of magazines on subjects as diverse as economics, politics, travel, business, lifestyle and news features. As editor of the leading lifestyle magazine in Ukraine, one of his responsibilities included managing a team of Ukrainian translators paying careful attention to deadlines, word count, accuracy and cultural relevance. Alexis also worked as a freelance interpreter (English-Russian) on many occasions.

Marina Mancarella - MA, MCIL, ITI Associate General Manager
Biography
Marina graduated from the Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators (SSLiMiT, Bologna University – widely considered one of the best in its field in Italy), with a degree in Conference Interpreting and Translation.
During her training, Marina was awarded a Socrates scholarship funded by the EU, spending a semester abroad at Portsmouth University, as well as two months in Bournemouth and a month each in Paris and Dublin. During this time she took several language courses to improve her language skills.
While studying at University, Marina also obtained the Diplôme Supérieur de Français des Affaires, released by the Chamber of Commerce of Paris.
Prior to joining Translation Central, Marina worked extensively on a freelance basis as an interpreter, translator and language researcher for private companies. During this time, she also gained valuable experience in the language training industry, organising language courses for private individuals and companies across Europe.
Marina has recently been awarded the title of Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists; an acknowledgement of her professional experience and dedication within the field of language and linguistics.
Marina is responsible for managing the translation process, from the initial quotation to the final client feedback phase; and also advises translators on the specific requirements of each job, including the use of specialised linguistic tools and translation software.
